Broadhop simplifies Internet access on UQ networks

UQ Networks recently introduced a new internet access/authentication facility called Broardhop. One major gain from this new system is the ability to use 802.1x to automatically authenticate devices to the network and thus speed up the process of getting network access.

For wireless devices such as Laptops, Nettops, Smart Phones and ipod Touches when you configure your wireless network connection, you should select "eduroam" as your preferred network rather than "UQ Connect". to connect to eduroam you must configure your device for 802.1x.
